We all have a reason why we want to lead a healthy life that goes well beyond losing weight…

Anyone can lose weight. I’ll bet the 40+% of the people in this country deemed obese, and the 70+% considered overweight, have lost weight at some point in time or another.

I know I’ve lost a few hundred pounds in my adult life. Little good that did me when I gained them all back and more.

Many factors played a role in the yo-yo years…

Taking on training routines and diets I wasn’t prepared to handle long term – the many excuses I made when I allowed life to get in the way.

They all point back to the reason that would be impacted, for good or bad, if I did or didn’t change my life.

I was a spectator in my family’s life in when they needed me to be not only an active participant, but a leader. I couldn’t take care of myself, much less anyone else – – and the thoughts that crossed my mind was alarming, and bordering on morbid.

Health has to be our #1 priority, because of the massive trickle-down effect it has on all facets of our lives.

Life was out of control in those days, until I took control of my health after Zach was born. I would be nowhere near where I am today in my life if I hadn’t done that. That much is true.

So now, when I ask you – What is your Why? Don’t default to the obvious – to lose weight. Really look deep inside you, in the place where the reason that scares you the most lies.
